ASSOCIATION'S VIEW
We are young for only a short time, yet we understand that as we age, perspective and priorities change and impressions. As young people venture into adulthood, the opinions, attitudes, and belief of new generations affect visions of the future, how communities organise and how institutions operate. Youths occupy a paradoxical position. Opportunities stretches infront of us, change is always inevitable. We have the energy and time to pursue our dreams and hopes, yet our eagerness and passion are feared among old generation who are too conservative. It is common for us to be viewed as troublemakers, hooligans, and unruly. We are not typically conceived as productive and constructive social actors, but rather as potential sources of political disruption, delinquency and criminality.
YOUTH are a combination of Vision, Determination, Vigor and Potency that can lead to effective Initiatives, Campaigns and Movements through which young people can voice their ideals and change the course of their society. This shall be the top agenda for Youth Affairs Association which shall unite all Youths and become the voice of the voiceless and the vulnerable group in our society .
Youth in Kenya today are passionate and enthusiastic, rebellious and raucous. They are idealistic and risk taking yet easily manipulated on tribal and regional basis. We are glorified and demonised inspiring hope for the future but raising concerns of a present danger.
Youthful age is the most trubulent period in life, a time spent searching for identity and place, family responsibilities may as yet be limited. Education offers enlightment for some though, for many it is difficult to attain since the increase in the educational facilities and institution does not accomodate the growing population. This makes the youth to see, leading a life without a future, a life that is accompanied by desparation and suffering when we attain our old age. Time is short when we can invest our youthful age energy and potency for the future, unless we are accorded a condusive enviroment through recognition and empowerment of the youth in the society, we realy don't see the future of the future majority (youth).
Quoting First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt for our leaders, "I live in real terror when I think we may be losing this generation. We have got to bring these young people into the active life of the community and make them feel that they are necessary."

I'm thinking of buying stocks and was wondering if anyone has any insight. For example, I understand you have to open a CDS account and then how does trading happen i.e. how do you know what to buy...is there a website you can monitor stock prices or do you utilize the services of stock brokers? Other than the newspapers where else can you get info about company stock performances? Do these have to declared as income and therefore cause additional taxes for the stock owner? Any other investment ideas? Not that I have plent of dough but just in case I hit the jackpot...
I know this should be a separate thread but does anyone share my viewpoint that Barack Obama just might be the next President of the US? If so, there's hope for the youth :) |

We are the youth. We've added our profile to your blog/web page...now what? What is the mission of this website? I've checked since I signed up and can't see anything worthwhile on this page. Would you clarify what the purpose of this site is?
